Multi-tenant evidence: screening for bay buildings

Screen addresses by the larger of their assessment-account count and licence count. These records do not establish occupancy or building layout.

9,401 buildings

One address record score

A single assessment account and at most one current licence cite this address. Consistent with a single-occupier building — and equally consistent with a multi-bay building whose occupants need no municipal licence.

Questions

Common questions

Does eight address records mean eight bays?

No. It means the larger of the two register counts is eight. A building can have more bays than licences, because many occupants need no municipal licence, and it can have fewer, because one occupant can hold several licences.

Why is a single-occupancy building still worth looking at?

Because the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. A multi-bay building whose occupants are all licence-exempt, sitting on one assessment account, appears here as a single record. The tiers are a screen to prioritise the search, not a filter that excludes.
